Dirk Engelbert

Dirk Engelbert is head of Structured Fund Solutions (SFS) for First Citizens Fund Banking.By applying our unique platform and exceptional expertise of lending to funds, Fund Banking offers holistic and flexible solutions, including innovative fund liquidity and fund-level debt. Dirk’s SFS team is responsible for net asset value (NAV) lending to private equity funds, fund of funds, and secondaries funds, as well as leverage lending to private credit funds.

Prior to his current role, Dirk helped establish and build out the SFS team at Silicon Valley Bank. Prior to that, Dirk spent 10 years at Macquarie Group, holding predominantly structuring, diligence and execution focused roles working with private equity, direct lending and hedge fund clients.

Dirk holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering with University Medal (valedictorian) and First Class Honors (summa cum laude) from the University of Technology, Sydney, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®).
