All international U.S. dollar and foreign currency payments require:
- Full Beneficiary Name, Address (no PO Box), and Account Number
- Bank Name and SWIFT/BIC (complete address is acceptable, if bank SWIFT is not available)
Additional requirements may include:
- IBAN: International Bank Account Number (up to 31 characters NO SPACES). Leave Bank-to-Bank Instructions blank when using an IBAN. See the table below for a list of countries requiring an IBAN.
- CLABE: Clave Bancaria Estandarizada (18 digits) account numbers are required on all Mexican peso (MXN) and USD payments sent to Mexico. Leave Bank-to-Bank Instructions blank when using a CLABE.
- IRC: International Routing Codes (IRC) are used by some countries to route payments through a main office to a branch. Each country has a unique name for its routing code. Enter IRC data in the Bank-to-Bank Instructions section.
- In-depth, detailed purpose of payment: Some countries require in-depth description of purpose of payment. For example, Invoice #123456 will not be sufficient as purpose of payment explanation. Instead, Invoice #123456, for container shipping expenses will be considered acceptable.
- Other: Some countries require other information in addition to the beneficiary account number. Enter other data in the Bank-to-Bank Instructions section.
Please review the country and currency requirements below to ensure your international wires are formatted correctly.
Important:
- We cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information as it is subject to change without notice.
- Due to antimoney laundering regulations, countries in South America and Asia requiring beneficiary contact information also require the beneficiary to present documents to claim funds before they will be credited to an account.
- Entering country-specific information in the proper format ensures funds will be routed correctly. If you do not have a SWIFT BIC, IBAN, IRC, Mexican CLABE or other data needed for a payment, please contact the beneficiary to obtain the required information. Incorrect information may result in processing delays or additional fees.
